Anusthan Cost
What this guide covers
An anusthan is not a single sitting like a one-day puja. It is a counted programme: repeated jap, path, or havan spread across one or more days, with a fixed sankalp and a closing on the last day. Families in Bengaluru often compare the dakshina for an anusthan with what they paid for Satyanarayan katha or a birthday havan. This note explains what makes the visit heavier, without putting a rate on the page.
Pandit Mrityunjay Sharma does North Indian Vedic pooja, path, and anusthan at the house. The exact plan is confirmed on WhatsApp after you share the rite name, the area, and the days you are considering.
What families ask
- Why does a three-day or eleven-day programme cost more than one evening of path?
- Does the count of mantra jap change the time and the samagri?
- Can we do part of the anusthan at home and part elsewhere?
- Do we need more than one pandit for a long havan?
- Is travel outside central Bengaluru counted separately?
- Can griha pravesh or a small puja be added in the same week?
These are fair questions. The answer is usually a mix of hours on site, fire and ghee use, how many days the pandit returns, and whether the family wants a full havan each day or jap with a closing havan. None of that is a promise about results; it is logistics and vidhi depth.
Duration and samagri notes
A one-day anusthan with a closing havan often runs several hours at the house. Multi-day programmes may use shorter daily sessions plus a longer final day. Samagri scales with ahuti count: extra samidha, ghee, havan samagri, and sometimes a dedicated homa kund placement. The family keeps flowers, fruit, and prasad; the pandit sends a written list on WhatsApp before the first day.
Ventilation matters for long havans in flats. Parking and lift access in high-rises also affect scheduling. All of that is discussed in chat, not on this page.

At the house in Bengaluru
High-rise flats need a clear answer on where the homa kund sits and whether the society allows smoke on the terrace. Gated villas may have a garden edge that works better than the living room. Pandit Mrityunjay Sharma asks for photos or a short video of the space when families are unsure, so the first day does not become a debate with security at the gate.
Multi-day anusthan also means your family must keep the altar area undisturbed between visits. Children, pets, and daily cleaners should know which room stays closed. If you travel for work mid-week, say so when you book so jap days can be grouped when an adult is home to tend the diya.
Dakshina is discussed in WhatsApp together with the count and the calendar. This page never lists rupee amounts or “packages.”
Book on WhatsApp
Message either number with the anusthan you want, the mantra or day count if you already know it, your area in Bengaluru, and preferred dates. Dakshina and the material list are shared in that chat; nothing is stored by this page.
